Blade Hawk

We operate customer owned Blade Yokes.

Liftra Blade Hawk installs and exchanges blades at 15m/s wind speed.

The Liftra Blade Hawk is a lightweight lifting yoke for onshore and offshore horizontal blade installation. The Blade Hawk technology uses patented load distribution that ensures maximum friction, without damaging the blade. With the integrated tilt and pitch functionality, the Blade Hawk will support fast and secure installations as well as exchanging of blades. The design of the LT1625-1 yoke makes it easily collapsible, reducing it to a size suitable for road transport on standard trailer chassis from turbine to turbine. This makes the yoke perfect for service campaigns.

The yoke is designed with extender arms, which are used for positioning by a tagline system or for installation of a fan solution.

MULTIBRAND

The Blade Hawk is designed as a multi-brand tool, which can be configured for a wide variety of different blades in the range between 50 and 90 meters in length. Upon request, Liftra will evaluate the specific blade of interest, and based on this, we will define necessary settings for the control system (software) and the right configuration of the clamping mechanism (hardware).

For the evaluation, we need access to blade data like 3D model and position of center of gravity (CoG).

Depending on blade specification (shape and CoG), it may in rare occasions be necessary to implement an interface adapter between the tool and the clamping pad. This adaption will be designed based on the study of the specific blade.
